Timbercoast operates the 1920 traditional sailing cargo schooner AVONTUUR to conduct and promote emission-free sea transport and to raise awareness about the growing pollution of our planet and it´s oceans by the global container shipping industry.

Our vision is to revive cargo shipping under sail, linking sustainable producers with conscientious consumers while preserving the environment for future generations.

Since the completion of a 20-month overhaul of our AVONTUUR, we are operating a tramp cargo service between the Caribbean Region and Western Europe with a cargo capacity of 110 tons or 135m³. We are looking for sustainable producers and importers/exporters of FairTrade Products that care as much about the environment as we do and therefore are looking to cut carbon emissions of the sea transport of their goods.

Goods shipped with us can be marketed under the Class A Fair Transport Label, indicating 90% emission free transport, adding value to your products and setting it apart from others.

Your products will be highlighted in every port of call during cargo operations, through our own website and social media channels or during printed and online articles and television documentaries, which Timbercoast and the AVONTUUR frequently feature in.
