The vanilla farmers from Provabe had their first sales in 2012. The group is just beginnig and finding ways to step away from vanilla dependence by setting up a nursery, growing ylang-ylang, from which oil is extracted, and spices like clove and nutmeg. The plants are also used for agroforestry purposes, creating more sustainable land-use systems.
