Industrias Mayo was started as a project to cultivate cocoa as an alternative to coca, thereby promoting the sustained development of the San Martin region in the Peruvian Amazon jungle. From this cocoa’s great potential Orquidea Chocolates were born. This Peruvian chocolate, made at the source, has a singularly delicious flavor and aroma. Its cacao is produced in the San Martin region, in the Peruvian Amazon, and is distinguished by its lovely and intense flavors and aroma, with fruity and citrus notes.

Orquidea works with native communities made up of small farmers. Some have grown cocoa for decades while others are just starting, but all share the common goal for their families to succeed thanks to this crop and the work that Orquidea has been doing. An important benefit that is provided to farmers is technical training, which has allowed them to improve crop yield and bean quality for fermentation. In this way, they are able to obtain better earnings for their labor. Organic and Fair Choice certifications of farms have also been important for farmers, since there is a growing awareness of environmental conservation.
