GIE-CDS is a consortium of small scale fruit and vegetable drying enterprises mostly dedicated to the production of mangoes. It was formed in 1995 and caters mainly to Europe. CDS is a member of the “International Federation For Alternative Trade (IFAT) and positions itself as a player in the social solidarity economy. Our dried mangoes have been organic certified for nearly 8 years and Fairtrade certified since 2007.
GIE- CDS is in partnership with groups of producers who have formed a union called « UPROMABIO / HS ». CDS is a structure to promote local products Burkina Faso and drying as a solution to problems of conservation in agricultural products.
It receives orders from export customers and distributes the commands between the processing units. It is then responsible for all marketing and communication party partners. The CDS also conducts a background of its members, awareness and training work.
The CDS works with 60 certified organic and fair trade mango producers, and 5 processing units for drying mangoes.
