Bio:

Founded in 2011 by biologist and environmentalist Sofia Rubio, the company produces 100% natural products from Amazon nuts (also called Brazil nuts). The nuts used in Shiwi’s products are sustainably harvested from the rainforest in the Peruvian province of Madre de Dios by the association of Collectors of Amazon Nuts of the Tambopata Reserve (ASCART).
Therefore, Shiwi supports organic farming and better environmental practicies through the commercialization of healthy and sustainable nuts products.
The purpose is to create harmony between man and the Amazon rainforest by spreading awarness about the responsible consumption of sustainable and fair trade products, and preservation of its ecosystem.
