Wayanad Social Service Society is a registered charitable society and a secular voluntary organization established in the year 1974. It is the official social service organisation of the catholic diocese of Mananthavady in Kerala. It aims at Socio-economic empowerment of the target group consisting of tribal, women, small and marginal farmers through Participatory Development interventions. In the year 1999 Wsss started the organic programme with 100 Farmers and by 2001 it attained Organic certification of Lacon. We have 3500 Organic Farmers in Wayanad district, Kerala. Wayanad Social Service Society initiated by organizing the first small scale producer farmers group in the year 2009, which is now WOFFA. WSSS Organic Farmers Fairtrade Association (WOFFA) is the trade association for promoting and strengthening farmers of wayanad fully committed to Fairtrade. Woffa is a registerd entity established in the year 2009 for the farmers as well as for the buyers.
