Our main challenge is to achieve sustainable production of high quality, organic coffee within a fragile and unique ecosystem by combining production with conservation strategies directed at improving the biodiversity of local flora and fauna. The latter include reforesting our land with endemic and native species that, in turn, provide our coffee bushes with shade, as well as actively eliminating introduced, highly invasive species that have historically threatened the Galapagos
Social challenges are to use local labor supply with high local labor cost. The main benefits are to provide training in high quality standard practices with environmental considerations in mind and introducing a high quality product into local markets to set new standards for business initiatives.
