The University of San Andrés (UMSA) is located in the city of La Paz, Bolivia. It was created by Supreme Decree on October 25, 1830, turning 185 at the end of 2015.

The School of Agronomy is UMSA’s newest having begun operations in 1987.

UMSA is part of the consorcium of organizations partnering up with Melting Pot Bolivia to implement the project “Latincrop.” Latincrop is "An integrated strategy for the conservation and use of underutilized Latin American agrobiodiversity." (Focused on seven Andean products (Cañahua, Amaranth, Isaño, Yacón, Arracacha, Quinoa and Tarwi) Latincrop seeks to promote supply and demand for these highly nutritious, under-utilised products with a producer-consumer focus.

Through this profile we represent and connect to the farmers we are working with through the Latincrop project.
