Bio:

The San Ignacio Agrarian Cooperative was founded June 25, 1969, and currently consists of 330 producing members, organized into 12 committees. These grassroots organizations are located in San Ignacio, Namballe, and San José de Lourdes in the Cajamarca region of Northeastern Peru, at altitudes ranging from 1000 to 18000 meters above sea level. The province resides on the buttresses of the Western and Eastern ridges of the Andes and the valleys that descend these slopes towards the Amazon Basin. We produce approximately 25,000 quintals on 1156 hectares, and 98% of our production is Organic and Fair Trade Certified. Each delivery from our producers is tasted in our laboratories in order to ensure the quality of our shipments, which are available between June and December.
