Colectivo Floresta is a project developed in collaboration between Coca-Cola and the government of the state of Amazonas in 2013. The project’s mission is to generate incomes for the traditional açaí producers in Amazonas and to contribute to the conservation of forests and biodiversity. The açaí collected by the indigenous Amazon populations is bought by Coca-Cola to manufacture jugos Del Valle Reserva Acai+Banana. From its creation, the project guaranteed the purchase of 300 tons of açaí pasteurized by Coca-Cola. The project also promotes training workshops for collecting populations. The partnernship between the state government and Coca-Cola, formed throughout two years, gave rise to an agreement to regulate relationships with the extractive communities, which was supported by 16 business institutions and NGOs, including the German Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
